Woodland
Project
Welcome to our site, please find an update as to progress we have made...
Some time has passed since Bricket Wood residents met at HSBC’s Hanstead House to discuss proposals for the village’s community woodland, so we thought you would like to know what progress has been made to create our wood.
Bricket Wood residents have:
We have been able to do this, firstly, because of the generosity of HSBC and also, because of the practical help, support, advice and training given by the staff of the CMS.
This has meant that the ideas and plans we discussed together at the first meeting in December 2003 have begun to take shape as woodland, for us all to enjoy in the years ahead.
But the woodland itself is only made possible because of Bricket Wood residents like yourself who are giving their interest and support and doing whatever work they can for two hours on the odd Saturday morning to:-
Get involved
And we have lots more plans for the future… like information boards showing the birds, trees, plants, flowers, fungi and insects we can see in the woodland, nesting boxes... and more besides.
How much we can do depends largely on how many people can help as volunteers. Would it be possible for you or your family and friends to join us for two hours on any of our work days, details of which can be found both below at our website or on the Bricket Wood notice boards? You would have a very warm welcome and whatever help you can give us (a lot or a little) will be much appreciated – and our woodland will more quickly become somewhere we can all enjoy.
As volunteers, we don’t need any particular skills or knowledge: CMS staff members are there to help us and provide the tools we need and the training and help to do the work. All we have to do is turn up to the work days when we can.
And we do hope you can join us.
